Community Workshops

Crafter / Artist Workshops

I will share pieces of my multi-layered love of weaving, the personal, political and spiritual components of this craft. You will learn frame loom set up, basic weaving techniques and of course techniques on finishing your weave for a strong, stable and complete piece!

Wild Weaving Workshop

I offer guidance in a free form intuitive art practice where we connect with the land, learn basic weaving techniques to complete a project and bring home a souvenir / momento / symbolic object / gift. We will weave with mostly wild local materials and wools and meet in a beautiful outdoor location.

New, thrifted and local weaving materials will be provided. If you feel drawn to bring personalized pieces of fabric, wool or materials from nature ie feathers, seaweed, tree bark, animal skins etc. feel free to do so and I can guide you into creatively integrating and stabilizing these parts.

Trauma Informed Workshops

These workshops can be booked in the context of a trauma informed and culturally sensitive context with healing aims of self confidence and community connection as well as therapeutic sessions for folks with alzheimers or brain injury to which research continues to provide evidence of it's beneficial effects.

Similar to the artist crafter workshops, you will learn frame loom set up, basic weaving techniques and of course instructions on completing your weave.

Culture/Events for Hire

I am also available to cocreate stage design, costume, ritual portals, wedding arches, I facilitate large scale community weaving as well as woven blessingway pieces where friends and family weave a sacred cloth/blanket/closing of the bones cloth/alter piece for the mama and baby to be. Commissions

Each commissioned tapestry tells a story, woven with locally sourced and recycled materials including wool from valley sheep and native plant fibers. I create custom pieces ranging from intimate wall art to statement installations (up to 5' x 3'), with investments starting at $500. The commissioning process begins with a conversation about your vision in collaboration with mine; from there I can show you live or photographed samples to discuss how we can create a piece that meaningfully connects with your space.
