Artist Statement

Being a lover of truth, I create works that reflect both the natural landscape and our intricate relationships with the natural world, exploring themes of interconnection, spirit of the land, capitalism, colonialism, and our severed relationship to place.
As a process artist, my approach involves silence, research, prayer, listening, hiking and gathering materials, while forming relationships with farmers and others who tend to animals and land.
While reflecting life and landscape, my work also encompasses projects that engage with urban environments – materials defining modernity; trash, cement, plastic etc.
I seek to express and experience truth not only from a human perspective, but also to feel/imagine viewpoints emerging from animals, plants, insects, and Gaia as a whole.
Inspired by art's ability to expand our minds, to heal and connect us, I aim to foster honest and embodied relationships with the earth and ourselves.
